BREAKING: Opening Keynote from Google’s Michael Jones
Michael Jones, the chief technology advocate at Google and a founder of Google Earth, will lead off the “10th Years of Games for Change” series with an opening keynote. Known for his work on Google Maps, Earth, and Local Search, he will share unexpected lessons learned from mobile, social, and gaming.

In addition to Jones, six gaming thought leaders will keynote the Festival: Leigh Alexander, Ian Bogost, Robin Hunicke, Brenda Romero, Jesse Schell, and Eric Zimmerman.

Competition Announced
We’ve selected three finalists in our first-ever public game design competition! These teams will present their concepts on stage at the Festival, and the winners will receive $35,000 to create a safer sex game prototype with Answer, an organization with 30 years’ experience in providing and promoting sexuality awareness to young people.
The finalists are:
Safe Sex with Friends by Kaho Abe of NYU Game Center, Ramsey Nasser, and Sarah Schoemann of NYU-Poly Game Innovation Lab
SexEd Super Task Force by Tracy Gromek and Marcus Pingel, co-founders of Brooklyn, New York-based Electronic Bohemia
Check/Mate by Stéphanie Mader, Julien Barbe, and Judicaëlle Live Lun of ENJMIN in France
