An Israeli supermodel has sparked online controversy with a photo of her standing in front of a urinal.

Coinciding with this weekend’s Tel Aviv Gay Pride weekend and meant to show her support for transgender equality, the photo of model Bar Refaeli has quickly gone viral.

Writing the caption ‘Gay, lesbians, bisexual, transgender ALL EQUAL TLV #gayweek’, Refaeli posted the photo to her Instagram, Facebook and Twitter feeds.

The model’s urinal photo has since garnered over 5,000 likes on Facebook, where followers had both positive and negative things to say about the photo.

Though the model took the photo down, she later posted a second photo from the Pride event’s main stage facing thousands of people with the caption: ‘Tel Aviv #gayweek INSANE!!’

This year’s Tel Aviv Pride has been hailed as the best ever, with over 100,000 attendees celebrating alongside. Tel Aviv Gay Pride 2013 photos are available on Gay Star News Flickr.
