Right now, thousands of dogs are being butchered for next week’s “Dog Meat Summer Festival” in Yulin, Guangxi, China. Thousands more have been crammed into cages for days — even weeks — and smuggled in for the event. Many have already died. The rest will remain packed on top of each other until they’re killed.

Citizens are outraged, and activists are on the ground urgently calling on authorities to call off the “festival.” They need your help!

Take action today: Sign our petition to Guangxi officials and tell them to stop the cruelty now!

I’ll be traveling to China with colleagues in the coming days to work on animal protection issues, and we’ll make sure the petition is delivered to the local authorities — to show them the world is watching.

Working with Chinese activists, we were able to convince authorities to close down another festival in 2010. We must do it again this year — and for good!

It starts in just days, so please don’t delay — sign our petition today!

Thank you so much for caring about animals.
