MAIN GALLERY  |  ANDREA KASTNER  |  SMALL DISASTERS

For the first time on August 1st, Andrea Kastner will be displaying a whole new series of paintings at Harcourt House Artist Run Centre.
Andrea Kastner is a painter living in Kamloops, BC, who creates work exploring the sacred nature of rejected things. Her paintings of basements, alleyways and trash bring to light the hidden underbelly of things we seek to ignore. The scale of these paintings is astounding you must see this in person.

FRONT ROOM GALLERY  |  MANA ROUHOLAMINI |  Walking the Text

Another new body of work that is being shown for the first time in Edmonton is Walking the Text by Mana Rouholamini.
Rouholamini’s work examines reading and the appropriation of the text by the reader. She is fascinated by the similarities between reading and walking. She describes the first three books as entities of space: how to appropriate a city with walking, daily exercises that can be done in a city to better discover it, and finally, how describing a nonexistent place makes it real.
