Dear Axcella,

A man in Washington state allegedly tied explosives to his dog Cabela’s collar and set them off. He has been charged with reckless endangerment and possession of explosives, but not animal cruelty. The local prosecutor said he was not charged with animal cruelty because Cabela died instantly and didn’t suffer. Where’s the justice for this animal?

The man claims he killed Cabela because his ex-girlfriend had “put the devil in it.” He has had numerous run-ins with the law.

Officials are considering all of the charges, and say that animal cruelty is not off the table. Cabela’s life was taken, whether it was instantaneous or not. Pending a psychiatric evaluation, this man should be charged with animal cruelty in addition to the other charges. Please sign the petition today!
